Project Overview
Led the end-to-end visual design for a large-scale annual conference hosted at Tākina Convention Centre, attended by over 1,500 participants across two days.
The project required developing a cohesive and scalable visual system that could perform consistently across a wide range of touchpoints—from large-format digital screens and stage backdrops to printed programmes, brochures, posters, and on-site signage. The challenge was to ensure clarity, legibility, and brand consistency in a high-density, fast-paced environment where attendees needed to navigate spaces and absorb information quickly.
I established a flexible design framework that balanced strong visual impact with functional communication. This included defining typography hierarchies for readability at distance, a colour system adaptable to different lighting conditions, and layout principles that could be applied across both digital and print formats without losing coherence.
Working closely with event organisers and production teams, I ensured all assets were delivered on time and aligned with technical specifications for large-scale displays and print production. The final outcome was a unified visual experience that enhanced wayfinding, reinforced the event’s identity, and supported a seamless attendee experience across all touchpoints.
